About the Cane Corso

The Cane Corso is an ancient large-sized, muscular, powerful, and kind of Mastiff that was developed in Italy to guard, herd, and hunt. Cane Corso is a serious Italian dog breed for people looking for a dog to foster as a companion. They have a vigorous temperament and are always ready to face new challenges. Cane Corso is extremely athletic, strong, and flexible, such traits are enhanced because of their role as a form dog back in Italy. Cane Corso is more lightly built compared to its cousin Neopolatin Mastiff and is believed to be descended from Roman war dogs. The word “Cane” is derived from the Latin word “Canis” meaning dog while “Corso” is derived from the Latin word “Cohors” meaning bodyguard or from the Italian word “Corsus” meaning sturdy or robust. They are used to hunt boars, guard property, and protect the family homes, besides these, they have been used on farms for centuries as catch dogs for cattle and swine. Cane Corso is a hard-working dog that needed physical and mental encouragement. In the early days, Cane Corso played an important role in the military. Cane Corso is not a good choice for first-time dog owners because this breed requires a lot of exercise, socialization, and training to be a good companion. The Cane Corso is a very muscular mastiff dog known for being a watchdog or guardian dog. They are large-sized and impressive in personality. If you are a proper trainer and you have more time to socialize then the Cane Corso is not a bad thing for you at all.
